Trip Overview

6 days of MTBking

Dinners : Selective Restaurants in the region

Guides: One experienced MTB riders to guide the group on the trails

Shuttle Service: Full airport and cycling activity shuttle service. We will also transfer the group to / from local restaurants for their dinner meal.

How the tour is structured

Arriva Day: Arrival at Athens Airport and shuttle all the riders to Vitina. Our vans are going to transfer the bike boxes to Vitin, where the riders to assemble their bikes and go for short test ride to ensure everything is set

Cycling Days

  • Preparation
  • Transfer to the starting point (if the activity starts away from the lodging)
  • Lunch right after the ride (not included)
  • Transfer to the hotel
  • Rest
  • Full Dinner meal

Rest Days: if the group decides for one day to rest, we organise a nice cultural trip on some of the areas point of interest (e.g. Ancient Mycenae, the King Agamemnon’s land)

Departure Day: Guests and bike cases are transferred directly to the Athens Int Airport

1100 euros / cyclist for a group of 6-12 cyclists

1000 euros / guest (activities included e.g. visiting Ancient Mycenae, or Nafplio Town, or Hiking)

Indicative Routes

Dimitsana

Distance: 36km
Elevation: 2020m
Average Incline: 10%
On Trails: 9km 
Gravel Road: 22km
Tarmac: 5km
Estimated duration: 4 – 5 hours

Overview: After the first couple of kilometres, the route gets the riders to a technical trail with constant variations in both grades and scenery. Later on, the route advances in gravel roads which meet, in parts, with hiking trails. Close to the end of the route, all of the trails become extremely technical and difficult, with carrying the bikes being a scenario which cannot be excluded. Along the route the riders pass by remote settlements, monasteries, old bridges and springs with mineral water.

 

Ladonas

Distance: 46km
Elevation: 737m
Average Incline: 3.5%
On Trails: 3km 
Gravel Road: 33km
Tarmac: 10km
Estimated duration: 4 – 5 hours

Overview: The route comprises roads of moderated difficulty and two trails, which are found on the beginning of the route. The first 6 km are the toughest of the overall route, while there is a chance to head on the same route to go all the way back to Vytina village.

Veltesiniko

Distance: 34km
Elevation: 1780m
Average Incline: 9.5%
On Trails: 11km 
Gravel Road: 20km
Tarmac: 3km
Estimated duration: 4 – 5 hours

Overview: The route constantly meets smaller trails and crosses gravel road that traverse through residential settlements. All of the trails are extremely technical. Most of them are rocky, with steep grades and require the riders to stay focused, balanced and able to apply power. The riders can only recover on the short gravel roads in between those trails.

Menalo

Distance: 24km
Elevation: 990m
Average Incline: 6.9%
On Trails: 6km 
Gravel Road: 15km
Tarmac: 3km
Estimated duration: 3 -5 hours

Overview: After the 6th km the route enter to the forest region and ranges at an altitude of 1300m. After a few hilly section the riders get close to the mountain’s plateau and the ski slopes, which offer a great view. The descending trail on the south side of the mountain, becomes extremely technical until it merges with the gravel road that gets the riders to the beginning.
