Description
Gavrio is situated in a geographic position that offers adequate protection from adverse weather, especially the prevailing northerly winds. This is the reason why the area was inhabited, and used as a harbor, since antiquity. Today Gavrio is Andros’ main port and its small town offers basic touristic services, and has several shops and cafes catering for visitors and locals.
