Korthi or Korthi bay or Yalos as locals refer to it, consisted a remarkable anchorage of the southern part of Andros in the past.Korthi’s port had regular ferry connection with Piraeus and the other islands of the Cyclades complex -Tinos and Syros; there was even a route to Izmir and Istanbul.All these facts, led to the development of Korthi and its surrounding villages establishing it as a local trading center with extremely active dwellers.
Today Korthi is a well organised place of residence tastefully decorated by its people and has been transformed into a summer resort where visitors enjoy tranquility, delicious food and the numerous festivities that take place in the island.
