Description
Penteli mountain range is situated northeast of Athens and its highest peak rises at the altitude of 1,109m.Similarly to Parnitha, Penteli is highly forested and consists an important natural habitat for plants and animals. It is mostly famous however, for its impeccable marble, quarried here since antiquity.Though it is hard to number the monuments, in which this exquisite white marble of Penteli was used, Parthenon is undoubtedly its finest exhibit.
