Tour Ιtinerary

A great coastal route

A ride which every cyclist visiting Athens should do! An approx 50 km (~30 miles) long spectacular route of excellent quality asphalt, starting at the edge of the city, crossing the Athens Riviera, towards the imposing ancient temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion. As the distance from the city increases, the ride becomes smoother and the view of the Saronic Gulf to always be a faithful riding companion till it reaches its end at Cape Sounion. The ride is mostly flat with a few challenges along the way. It will only require a few short, but greatly rewarding efforts, to get the rider to the top of those short hills.

Points of Interest

Parnitha, Marathon Area, Penteli, Cape Sounion – Temple of Poseidon, Hymettus Mountain, Keramikos, Ancient Roman Agora, Erechtheion, Rock of Acropolis, The Temple of Parthenon, The Herodes Atticus Odeon, The Theater Of Dionysus, Plaka, Temple Of Olympian Zeus, Hill Of Philopappos.

mt. Parnitha

A long steady climb will get you to the highest point of Athens. From there, while descending with might get the circumference forest road around the mountain’s summit.

We might stop the ride at the mountain’s banks, but I would strongly suggest to test our legs and finish the ride at the water reservoir, the artificial lake of Marathon. It is a strong and demanding ride, but worths every mile.

An idyllic day

In the morning you are being transferred with a sea taxi across the sea passage, to the little port of Costa. From there you ride around the peninsula of Argolida and visit a small number of towns which are outside of the tourism industry radars. Small towns, by the sea, with simple and kind people.

Depending of how the cycling progress we might stop for lunch at a place that we love. Wecan resume or call it day, your choice.

After the ride you are being shuttled (by sea taxi) back to Spetses

Around Spetses

We are going to provide you with two fitness bikes, equipped with panniers , so that you can carry your swimming gear. The goal of this day is to enjoy a great circle route around the island,  jump into the water and follow an easy a nice pace.
